SchoPlast Plastic GmbH – over 30 years of tradition in Upper Lusatia (Oberlausitz).

 

 

Origins and a New Beginning

The roots of SchoPlast Plastic GmbH date back to 1971.
At that time, a local business was nationalised and operated as VEB Plastverarbeitung Bischofswerda

With German reunification and the company’s conversion into a limited company under the administration of the Treuhand, a challenging period began: the existing products were no longer marketable, production ground to a halt, and drastic staff cuts were unavoidable.

However, by the end of 1990, signs of a fresh start were already emerging: thanks to initial partnerships with Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH in Lüdenscheid and the Rubbermaid Group in Dreieich, production was able to resume.

On 1 June 1992, Werner Scholze re-established the company under the name SchoPlast Plastic GmbH – initially with 20 employees.

Growth and Expansion

As early as 1992–1993, a close partnership was established with Albrecht JUNG GmbH & Co. KG in Schalksmühle.

The rising volume of orders made expansion necessary: in 1994, a new production facility covering an area of 1,200 m² was built in the Nord industrial estate.

By the time of its 20th anniversary in 2012, SchoPlast had continued to grow steadily – production and storage space had doubled to 2,200 m², accompanied by state-of-the-art technology and a steadily growing team.

Strategic Partnership and the Future

The long-standing collaboration with JUNG developed into a strategic partnership, which culminated in 2016 in the construction of a new production hall for thermoset plastics. Since then, Albrecht JUNG GmbH & Co. KG has also been a co-shareholder in SchoPlast Plastic GmbH

Integration of toolmaker SchoForm

On 15 September 2025, SchoForm was fully integrated into SchoPlast Plastic GmbH.

With this move, SchoPlast took on 20 employees as well as all the production facilities and machinery used in mould-making.

The integration provided the company with an additional 1,400 m² of production space and expanded its capabilities to include the full range of mould-making services.

SchoPlast now also manufactures the tools for presses and injection moulding machines in-house – a significant contribution to greater vertical integration, flexibility and quality assurance.
